“This is an event that brings something unique to the area. From day one, everyone we have worked with has been very cooperative, and as a result, NOVA6 Studios and the city of Altoona can present a day of costumes, candy, and lots of laughter for the community that almost anyone can enjoy.” said Chris Peters, CEO of NOVA6 Studios.

This year’s event will take place on Saturday, and should provide entertainment and activities from morning until night. The youngest among us can get their faces painted or made up like a zombie. There will be nerf battles and live music to dance to, and plenty of good things to eat. Penn State Altoona will present “Spooktacular Science” which will provide opportunities to do hands on experiments. You can shop among the many vendors, as there will be a large assortment of artists, craftsmen, and others with products to purchase or admire… but MOST IMPORTANTLY… The Halloween Parade starts at 7pm and will be followed by a costume contest at 8pm.

The music begins at 11am with The Backyard Rockers, and continues at 12:30 with Jae Smith acoustic, a local singer/songwriter/guitarist. Felix and the Hurricanes take the stage from 2pm to 4pm with their blues-rock combination that is guaranteed to provide a positive and festive atmosphere that will lead up to 4pm’s Zombie Wedding. This wedding will be a little different since “Til death do us part” is only the beginning of the adventure. It will surely be a sight to witness.

Following the Zombie Wedding is the Alice in Chains tribute, Deny Your Maker, who will rock you for nearly 2 solid hours prior to the parade, so you can get your energy up. And the final musical act of the day will be The Musicologists, a musical tribute to Prince. They will begin around 9pm, following the costume contest.

“This is a very inclusive event, and we have tried to welcome anyone interested in contributing something. I have been witnessing a change in Altoona over the last few years as the community has increasingly participated in events like ZombieTown USA and CRE814 Festival. Downtown Altoona can be an example for other communities as local businesses, agencies, artists and individuals have been working together to make the area safer, friendlier, more creative and better for businesses and citizens both. I’m very proud to be a part of this.” – Todd McKeone, Chief Marketing Officer, NOVA6 Studios.
